Konkurs za studente i studentkinje

Pozivamo sve zainteresovane studente i studentkinje osnovnih, master ili doktorskih studija, asistente, istraživače, profesore, učesnike društvenog života iz zemalja regiona da doprinesu uspešnom funkcionisanju portala Politheor.net slanjem svojih kratkih eseja na određene teme.

Politheor je naučni, političko-teorijski portal za razmenu ideja na regionalnoj osnovi. Pokrenut sa ciljem jačanja kritičkog odnosa spram teorijskih koncepata i društveno-političke stvarnosti podrazumeva argumentovano, naučno-relevantno, kritičko promišljanje.

Period od 15. do 31. marta 2012. je određen za slanje radova u prvom ciklusu.

Tema prvog ciklusa je „Budućnost Evrope".

Drugi ciklus za slanje radova kreće 30. marta 2012.

Nakon svakog ciklusa, urednici će uz konsultaciju sa profesorima izabrati najbolji tekst.

Nakon deset ciklusa, autori najboljih tekstova biće obavešteni o objavljivanju Zbornika radova. Njihov zadatak u sledeća 2 meseca biće da svoju tezu prošire i pošalju istraživački rad urednicima. Zatim će angažovani recenzenti radove pregledati i Zbornik će biti pripreman za štampu.

Radove treba slati u sledećem formatu:

Font treba da bude Times New Roman, veličina 12, prored 1.5.

Dužina teksta od 5000 do 10.000 karaktera.

Navođenje referenci u tekstu u skladu sa Chicago Manual of Style po sistemu autor - godina.

Nakon teksta, ispod podnaslova Literatura navesti pune nazive upotrebljenih izvora

Politheor je naučni, političko-teorijski portal za razmenu ideja na regionalnoj osnovi. Pokrenut sa ciljem jačanja kritičkog odnosa spram teorijskih koncepata i društveno-političke stvarnosti podrazumeva argumentovano, naučno-relevantno, kritičko promišljanje. Držimo da bez relevantnog, objektivnog i nepristrasnog pristupa određenim društveno-političkim fenomenima, bilo iz ugla teorije ili prakse (empirije), nema ni nezavisnog kritičkog diskursa.

Obzirom da je cilj portala razmena ideja među neistomišljenicima iz regiona, nije ograničen samo na autore iz oblasti političkih nauka, tačnije politoloških znanja, već uključuje autore iz srodnih društvenih disciplina: sociologe, filozofe, kulturologe i sve one koji se aktivno bave promišljanjem društveno-političke situacije u zemljama regije. Zaobići kritizerstvo koje često dominira u publicističkim radovima, a podstaći smisleno, argumentovano akademsko pisanje, prevashodno među mladima (studentima, diplomantima, magistrantima) na regionalnom nivou, težnja je urednika portala.

Zamišljen kroz razmenu eseja, prikaza, kolumni, komentara, recenzija i čitalačkih grupa, Politheor donosi sučeljavanje u mišljenjima i argumentima te tako otvara prostor za diskusiju među autorima. Kroz razmenu radova na zajedničkoj temi, promovišemo mlade autore, nove naraštaje politikologa, sociologa, političkih filozofa i svih onih koji dolaze iz oblasti društvenih nauka, pratimo razvoj političke misli u zemljama regiona i stepen njenog uključivanja u evropske diskurse. Politheor je i informativnog karaktera jer prenosi radove, članke autora iz Evrope i sveta, kao i informacije o budućim seminarima i konferencijama u regionu. Portal okuplja studente osnovnih, master i doktorskih studija, asistente i istraživače, profesore iz zemalja regije, ali i sve one koji su spremni dati vlastiti doprinos u jačanju kritičke svesti i kritičkog odnosa, nepristrasnim, objektivnim, naučno-relevantnim akademskim pisanjem.

Internship at Financial Network Analysis, Barcelona

Description

Financial Network Analytics serves major central banks, international organisations and hedge funds, developing the FNA enterprise software and web service. FNA is an analytics platform that helps financial institutions and regulators explore and understand financial data with network analysis and visualization.

FNA is offering summer internship positions in scientific programming, network analysis and research assistance. The internships offer an exciting opportunity to be part of an international team developing and providing a cutting edge product.

Tasks

Depending on the candidates profile:

• Develop as part of a team FNA software and service, in particular components related to network visualization, graph algorithms and simulation models
• Prepare white papers, documentation, tutorials and blog posts about FNA and financial networks
• Assist with consulting and client projects

Eligibility

Main requirement are:

• Graduate or postgraduate level university degree in computer science, finance, mathematics, economics or a related field
• Familiarity with algorithm development, graph/network theory, and network analysis and/or visualization
• In-depth programming skills in Java or Javascript (for programming internship)
• Familiarity with statistical and mathematical analysis software (e.g. Matlab and R) is an asset
• Fluent command of English with proven drafting ability

Behavioral competencies:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation

Remuneration

Three internship positions are available each for a period of three to five months between 15 April and 15 September. The internship carries a compensation of 600 euro per month.

Bocconi Scholarship for International Students, Milano, Italy

Description

Bocconi University offers up to 40 need-based scholarships to international students enrolling in Bachelor Programs or the Combined Bachelor and Master Program at Bocconi. The awarding of the scholarship also takes into consideration scholastic performances of the students.

Scholarship

The Scholarship consist of full tuition waiver worth approximately €11.000 per year for a maximum of 3 academic years (for Bachelor’s programs) or 5 academic years ( for the Bachelor’s and Master of Science in Law program). The renewal of the scholarship is subject to meeting merit criteria. Scholarship applications must be submitted by the same deadline as that of Bocconi on-line admission’s application as stated below.

Eligibility

Only applicants who meet all the following conditions will be taken into consideration for the awarding of the scholarship:

• Non-Italian citizenship;
• Non-Italian residence;
• A non-Italian Secondary School Diploma earned in Italy or abroad;
• Admission granted for the first year of a Bocconi Bachelor’s Program or the Combined Bachelor’s and Master of Science  in Law program for the A.Y. 2012-2013  (please note that the application must be submitted before admission: this requirement will be considered only at a later stage);

Students who meet any of the following conditions will NOT be taken into consideration:

• previously enrolled in an undergraduate program or in a Combined Bachelor’s  and Master’s Program in Italy or abroad;
• have earned an Undergraduate or Graduate level university degree;
• recipient of a scholarship awarded for the AY 2012-13 by private or public institutions

Applicants  must  complete  and submit  the online  Bocconi Scholarship application form by the same deadline as that of their Bocconi on-line admission’s  application. On-line applications submitted after the proper deadline will be not considered.
